Our Church teaches that to love is to will the good of the other, a truth that reminds us love cannot exist in isolation—it must be shared. Love is a precious gift from God, entrusted to us to be lived out in service to our neighbors. This campaign serves as a call to action, inviting all of us in the diocese to transform the love we’ve received into tangible hope for our neighbors.

This campaign was shaped by the voices of our parishes. Through Diocesan Listening Sessions (2021-2023), Bishop Flores gathered insights from parishioners of all ages, identifying the key needs and challenges facing our communities. This campaign is a pastoral response to those needs and has a special focus on ensuring our parishes have the resources to serve and support the faithful.

This campaign reflects our shared mission as a faith community, with the collective goal of raising $20 million to support parish efforts to evangelize, accompany those struggling with mental wellness, support our youth, and carry out parish projects. 

Love Builds Hope is a separate endeavor from regular offertory. Just as a family would not stop buying groceries to put a new roof on their home, regular offertory will continue so we can provide for the day-to-day needs of our ministries. The campaign is an extraordinary effort to address extraordinary needs, such as a new roof. Our offertory helps us live. The campaign is helping us build for the future. 

The campaign will be conducted in every parish and mission, each with its own fundraising goal. From winter 2025 to spring 2026, every practicing Catholic in the diocese will be invited to consider making a sacrificial gift. Parishes will have three years to reach their fundraising goals, and families or individuals who pledge will also have a three-year period to fulfill their commitments. This timeline ensures flexibility and allows everyone to contribute in a way that works best for them.

Once a parish wave begins, every registered family will receive a case statement and a letter from Bishop Daniel Flores and Father, inviting them to prayerfully consider making a pledge. Please know this will be an invitation, not an expectation. Our hope is that each family or individual will discern a gift that is both meaningful and above their regular offertory giving. This ensures the campaign strengthens parishes without affecting ongoing ministries and operations. 

Parishes will not be penalized if they do not reach their fundraising goal. The primary aim is to invite all registered families to participate. Participation can take many forms—volunteering your time, offering prayers for our mission, making a financial gift, or all of the above. Every contribution, no matter how small, helps strengthen the Church our shared purpose.
